HOW DO I KNOW WHAT DIOPTRE OR MAGNIFICATION TO BUY?
The best and most accurate way to know what magnification you need is to check your prescription or have your eyes tested by an optometrist. A less accurate measure is to use the self-test at any pharmacy. Finally, if buying for a gift, ask the recipient what dioptre they use!
CAN CliC GLASSES BE SCRIPTED?
Yes, CliC reading glasses can be scripted by your optometrist. It is a 31mm frame and can take up to a tri-focul. They are a ‘cold-fit’ frame.
DO CliC GLASSES HAVE A WARRANTY?
…The short answer is no. CliC reading glasses have an average life expectancy of 12 months. Some people get much more life and some get much less depending on occupational influences, male users vs female users and how they are cared for etc.
However, if you believe you have a fair claim for factory-faulty goods within 6 months of purchase, please contact our head office (via this website) for a return authorisation. You will be asked to verify where and when you made your purchase and asked to return the goods to us (at your cost) for further inspection. If we find fault, your glasses will be either repaired or replaced as required under the guidelines of the Australian Consumer Law.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY CliC GLASSES?
CliC glasses are all made from high quality components which are designed to endure most of what life throws out…. HOWEVER, a little TLC goes a long way to maintaining longevity. I always rinse my glasses in warm, soapy water after I have been in or near the sea, or at the end of a hot, sweaty day. The same would be recommended for those who use their glasses in dirty or dusty environments such as building sites, factories, hospitals, farms etc. Hang the glasses to air-dry overnight and during the day store them around your neck where they are out of harm’s way. Clean the lenses daily and use only a microfiber cleaning cloth. When travelling either store them around your neck or slip them into a soft bag and place them between a few soft layers in your suitcase.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE FRAME TO BUY?
All the CliC glasses have a sliding connector but the length of the connector varies with each size. The CliC Original Reader is available in 4 sizes as follows:
REGULAR - fits average men and women; about 70% of heads; this is the original size.
LONG – 1cm longer on each temple pin; great if you have a large head.
SHORT – 1cm shorter on each temple pin; perfect for petite ladies and kids.
XXL – temple pin is wider at the front of the frame, longer on the sides and extends wider in the centre-back; Perfect for the really big-headed gents (endearingly known as boof-heads to some!)
IS THERE A FRAME THAT SUITS A LARGE FACE?
Yes – in Spring of 2011 we are launching a few new products. Have a look at the CliC EXECUTIVE CliC Ashbury and the CliC ONE, all available at Independent Optometrists.
IS THERE A CliC THAT WORKS FOR LADIES WITH ’BIG HAIR’?
Most women I know who have lots of hair still love to wear their CliC glasses, flicking the strap between the layers at the back of their hair before lifting them onto the ears. You could try CliC Unique or CliC Euro (new for spring 2011) as both these styles have a strap that is designed to dip below the hair-line at the back of the neck.
